چکیده

We present the analysis of the complete glueball spectrum for the AdS black hole supergravity dual of QCD4 in strong coupling limit: g N → ∞. The bosonic fields in the supergravity multiplet lead to 6 independent wave equations contributing to glueball states with J = 2, 1, 1−−, 0 and 0. We study the spectral splitting and degeneracy patterns for both QCD4 and QCD3. Despite the expected limitations of a leading order strong coupling approximation, the pattern of spins, parities and mass inequalities bare a striking resemblance to the known QCD4 glueball spectrum as determined by lattice simulations at weak coupling. ∗This work was supported in part by the Department of Energy under Contracts No. DE-FG0291ER40676 and No. DE-FG02-91ER40688

Glueballs and AdS/CFT

I review the calculation of the glueball spectrum in non-supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory (in 3 and 4 dimensions) using the conjectured duality between supergravity and large N gauge theories. The glueball masses are obtained by solving the supergravity wave equations in a black hole geometry. The masses obtained this way are in unexpectedly good agreement with the available lattice data, and a...

Scalar glueball in a holographic model of QCD

Recently, a lot of interest has grown around the possibility of applying string inspired techniques to the non-perturbative regime of QCD. The starting point is the AdS/CFT correspondence [1], a conjectured duality between a maximally supersymmetric strongly coupled conformal field theory and the supergravity limit of type IIB string theory, which involves theories different from QCD. Further d...

Glueball Mass Spectrum from Supergravity∗

We review the calculation of the spectrum of glueball masses in non-supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory using the conjectured duality between supergravity and large N gauge theories. The glueball masses are obtained by solving the supergravity wave equations in a black hole geometry. The glueball masses found this way are in unexpected agreement with the available lattice data. We also show how to...

D0 − D4 System and Qcd 3+1 Typeset Using Revt E X 1

We consider a (3 + 1) dimensional QCD model using the duality of the supergravity and the large N gauge theory, using the non-extremal D0−D4 branes as the supergravity background. We calculate the spectrum of the glueball masses and the Wilson loop in this background. The mass spectrum is shown to coincide with one in the pure non-extremal D4-brane system, and the area low of the spatial Wilson...

A note on the glueball mass spectrum

A conjectured duality between supergravity and N = ∞ gauge theories gives predictions for the glueball masses as eigenvalues for a supergravity wave equations in a black hole geometry, and describes a physics, most close toa hightemeperature expansion of a lattice QCD. We present an analytical solution for eigenvalues and eigenfunctions, with eigenvalues given by zeroes of a certain well-comput...
